How to make the perfect summer cocktail
In times of heatwave, we Brits need 2 things. A good fan to keep us cool on the outside, and a refreshing cocktail to chill us down on the inside. How about an Elderflower Gin Fizz?
So as it’s National Prosecco Day, here’s my best suggestion for an easy peasy cocktail that requires minimum effort. You can make it right now to cool you down. Honestly, it might be the most refreshing thing I’ve ever had to drink.
It’s a good measure of gin, and equal parts apple juice, elderflower cordial and a splash of lime. Perfect.
This is a long cool drink so you’ll need a tall glass. Lots of ice and a big bunch of mint to garnish.

Ingredients for your Elderflower Fizz
60ml Gin – I used Sipsmith London Dry Gin, one of my favourites
50ml Elderflower Cordial – I used Belvoir Elderflower Cordial
50ml Cloudy Apple Juice
2 tbsp lime juice
Prosecco, to top up.
It couldn’t be easier to make
Pour gin, cordial and juices over ice and stir to mix.
Add Prosecco to fill the glass. You could also try it with tonic or soda water.
Garnish with mint leaves, or cucumber spears.
Put your feet up.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did?
That’s all for now
