We’ve loved working with Mason Cash  this year and couldn’t be more excited about their new range of batter bowls   They come in a gorgeous range of colours, capacity 2 litre and they’re made of heavy chip resistant stoneware .  We use ours most days for mixing, whisking and pouring. Perfect for pancakes, yorkshire puddings – or really anything at all. A delightful gift for the star baker in your family.

What’s the most popular christmas gift for women?   Chocolate, of course. It’s the most wonderful time of the year so why not treat her to a beautiful box of handmade bean to bar chocolates from Baravelli’s Artisan Chocolatier.  Mark & Emma are multi award winning chocolatiers. Honestly, Willy Wonka has nothing on their delightful chocolate shop in Conwy, North Wales.  We suggest the “12 days of Christmas” gift box. It’s beautifully wrapped and contains scrumptious delights such as Mulled Wine, Christmas Pudding, Spiced Orange and Cranberry, and Rudolph’s Sloe Gin Tipple. Don’t they sound amazing?

We’ve been following Tabby Rabbit for a few years now and her work is just lovely. Tabby is an illustrator, designer/maker and dog lover who works from her Devon home with the help of Minnie the Sprocker Spaniel and 2 family dachshunds. We especially love the stationery, tote bags, wall art and other cute things. Great stocking fillers for the doglover in your family.

Andy and Nat make the most gorgeous Nathalie Bond Organics skincare and candles from their workshop in Sheffield. We wouldn’t get through the cold months without our Winter Essential Oil Candle to keep us cosy. This year they’re doing beautiful gift boxes. The most popular is the Rose Bath Time Box  including Rose Geranium and Patchouli Bath Salts, Candle and Body Oil. It’s full of sweet smelling gorgeousness and you can even get your box personalised with custom printed To/From.

What could be better to zing you into the New Year than a relaxing bubble bath with Peppermint and Eucalyptus Body Scrub, our favourite scent. Or you could treat your friends to a pretty bottle of Rose Mist, organic rose flower water. It’s so gentle it can be used as perfume or linen spray – to keep you and your bedroom smelling like an English Country Garden.

I’ve only met Marcia once, but she made such an lovely impression that I’ve been following Mamws Interiors every since. Tucked away on the North Wales coast, Mamws started with handmade lampshades using traditional welsh fabrics, and has quickly progressed to candles, luxury cushions, aprons and breakfast mugs. There really is no stopping Marcia in achieving her dreams.  Why not indulge yourself with one of their handpoured candles.  Their Winter candle will add a sprinkling of Christmas glamour to anyone’s stocking. They’re handpoured using premium vegetable wax blend, 100% vegan and free from animal testing and highly fragranced to give a gorgeous natural scent that will burn for around 40 hours.

No Christmas stocking is complete without a bag of great coffee beans to see you into the New Year. Those long lazy holiday mornings are just crying out for a cup of fresh home brewed delicious coffee. Heartland Coffi is taking North Wales by storm with their freshly roasted beans and you can buy them online too. We always call to the roastery in Llandudno for ours and often the beans have been roasted the same day – imagine that! So dump your supermarket coffee, don’t bother with the high street chains, and head straight for the independent wonder that is Heartland. If you want to taste it first, it is best sampled at Providero Teas & Coffees Llandudno

Coffee Beans or Ground £6.00

If you’ve not come across Janet Bell Home, you need to hot-foot over there and find out what all the fuss is about. Janet is a North Wales artist and owner of Janet Bell Gallery and Janet Bell Home. Her mother is Danish so scandi style is a big influence on the lovely things on sale. With 2 shops in Beaumaris, and the website, they carry over 60 designers, artists and makers so there’s a fantastic choice of gifts and goodies. We love everything, but now the cold weather is upon us we want to tell you about these cosy lambswool knee socks by Catherine Tough. The designs and colours are fab, perfect for hygge nights round the fire and great with boots to keep your toes warm throughout the winter.

Cosy Socks £22

So many room fragrance products and scented candles over-promise and under-deliver, but not Hattie & Beau. Named after her 2 beloved dogs Jess started up her brand new business earlier this year and her products are flying out – available through Facebook with a website due next year. The scent is simply outstanding with a range of perfumed and natural smells to choose from including some Jo Malone fragrances. This is the gift that will keep on giving all year. We love the heart burner and the Bergamot and Verbena melts. There’s christmas melts too if you fancy treating yourself during December.

Burners from £3

Melts from £1.50

I have a thing for cute brooches so when I met Cath from Miss Marple Makes at a Victorian Christmas market I was immediately in love with her brand. She works from home in the lovely Ogwen valley, North Wales, and sells through local outlets and online.  As well as adorable brooches, she makes pendants, badges, earrings and hanging ceramic ornaments for your tree. Everything is handmade and handpainted. Cath is influenced by her Scandi-roots and her love of animals.  We love the adorable dachshund brooches, and have just bought a festive Snowman brooch to pin with joy in December.

Brooches £7

Thank you so much to all contributors for being so keen to be involved and sharing your lovely products with us. I feel very proud of my Thoughtful Christmas Gift Guide but it wouldn’t have been possible without the enthusiasm of these special folks. It reflects lots of things I love, and lots of people I enjoy working with throughout the year. It’s a joy to be able to support and promote other small businesses and we hope you will include some of these lovely items in your gift shopping this year. Independent is best, after all.

And if Mr Bond is reading – any of the above would be very welcome in my stocking!

We’d love to hear from you so drop us a comment if you’ve been inspired, or post your purchases on facebook and tag us in.

Happy Advent Season
