Time in the Tub with Tropic Skincare

Hot baths have happily become part of my evening routine especially since I discovered Tropic Skincare. Call it self-care, R&R, “me time” – whatever – it’s working for me.  It started with reading a blog about the benefits of epsom salts in reducing migraines. I didn’t need telling twice.  And now I find myself clock-watching all evening until 9pm – bathtime

Who remembers Ernie? I introduced you to the Tropic Ernie box earlier in the autumn and the bath products have been a happy addition to my evening routines.  I’ve loved trying out some amazing new Tropic products. Who wouldn’t?

I’ve tried a few exfoliants over the years but it’s never been part of my regular routine. After a few days with Tropic Face Smooth – this could change.  The packaging pronounces  that it “instantly smooths and brightens your skin” and I have to admit – it does exactly what it says on the tin. The bamboo silica is ground up to exactly the right size to refresh and smooth the skin’s surface without feeling you’ve been attacked by sandpaper. It smells fresh and zingy but at the same time has a calming and relaxing effect. Macadamia oil and Vitamin E hydrate the skin and elderberry extracts make it smell heavenly. You can use the Bamboo Cloth that comes with the Skin Cleanser to wipe off or just splash it away in the bath. I might use this once or twice a week and a little goes a long way.

There’s 3 different face masks to choose from. You have to keep them all in the fridge to ensure freshness. I’ve tried the Deep Hydration Soothing Cooling Mask  – the purple one – which you leave on your face for 20-30 minutes (but to be honest any amount of time is effective), and is suitable for all skins types. So make sure you’ve got plenty of time and this mask will repay you in relaxing vibes. It has a creamy texture and is full of antioxidants and flower extracts for deep hydration.  I loved the fruity citrus scent and how smooth my face felt afterwards. Maybe that’s the extract of Resurrection Flower!

There’s 4 fragrances to choose from in this award winning 250ml bottle and I reckon it’s quite good value at £10 if you use it sparingly. It has a nice rich lather which I wasn’t expecting and smells heavenly. If I order this again (which is very possible) I’ll probably go for the Frangipani, Star Anise and Tiare Flower. It’d be lovely in your morning shower too.

If you’re looking for the perfect gift to introduce someone to Tropic – this Whipped Body Velvet would be ideal. I tried the Passion Fruit Cream fragrance but there’s also Coconut Cream. It reminds me of the lightness and fluffiness of lemon sorbet. Great for all over, but I especially love it on my toes.  It’s full of madagascan rarabe butter and baobab oil for super softness, and whisked with tahitian vanilla extra for a bit of exotica.  The first night I used it on my hands and arms and the gorgeous smell was still there the next morning – even my husband noticed, which is quite something! It’s £28 for a 200ml pot. Thoughtful gift or a tempting treat for oneself!!!

200ml £28

All of these wonderful treats and much more can be found at Sandra Pierce’s Tropic Web Page.   If you live around North Wales you can order directly from Sandra’s Facebook page and she might even deliver to your front door.

January is the perfect time to allow yourself a good soak. It’s important to breathe out and re-callibrate before time runs away with you.

If you’re keen to start the year with more plant based goodness in your life – then Tropic is a great place to begin.

We’ll be telling you about Tropic Haircare very soon, so keep an eye out.

That’s all for now
