TRAVEL GUIDE | A FEW DAYS IN THE PEAK DISTRICT
I’m just back from a few relaxing days in the Peak District with Mr Bond and thought I’d share some pretty moments with you.
It was a complete surprise for my husband who thought we were heading for a birthday picnic down the Conwy Valley! I packed the car with clothes, food, books, and the dog and we took off for 4 days to the sleepy village of Great Longstone. It’s one of our favourite areas – we’ve spent time in Youlgreave and Wirksworth in previous years – so were very happy to return.
Nearby you can enjoy the ‘real deal’ Bakewell Tart in the lovely country town of Bakewell, you can visit the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire at their very beautiful Chatsworth Estate, or you can just sit and admire the most stunning of views from Monsal Head. Little Longstone is next door and between them they boast 2 pubs, 2 shops, 1 cricket ground and bucket loads of peace and quiet.
Today it’s all about the photographs. I had a little walk around the Village one sunny evening with my new Nikon D3200 and found lots of pretty details that I hope you will enjoy.
