What to try first from Tropic Skincare

I’m quite a low maintenance girl. Less about following every brand and piling on the layers, and more about finding a few “hero products” that really suit my skin and sticking with them. That’s why I love Tropic Skincare.

I don’t have a lot of time for skincare routines that take more than 5 minutes morning and night. Life is just too short. But I do like a bit of a pamper every now and again. Often a Sunday evening. Seems like the perfect time for a spot of skin self care.

Also I’m 40 something and never been more conscious of trying to stay fresh faced for as long as possible.

Whatever your age , your skin needs proper attention which in my book means natural, ethically sourced ingredients and a bit of sensible science.

Why Tropic Skincare?

Maybe you’ve had your eye on Tropic Skincare for a while. Wondering whether to give it a go. Trying to convince yourself that it’s worth spending that little bit more than your normal off the shelf skincare.

So Tropic came into my life in the form of Looking Good Naturally a few years back. I watched from a distance. Listened to the amazing reviews. Noticed the exponential growth of Susie Ma’s multi award winning green beauty company. And gradually became convinced of Tropic’s ethical foundations, their authentic product claims, and their heart for making a genuine difference in the over-packaged, over-saturated world of cosmetics.

Did you know that 1/3 of all the rubbish sent to landfill is discarded beauty products? The make-up palette you bought and just used 1 colour? That single use shampoo bottle. The plastic packaging on the gift set you gave a friend.

What to buy first from Tropic?

So for me it was all about the products. Once I’d tried for just a few weeks (probably days), there was no going back.

My routine daily routine is very simple. In the morning I cleanse, tone, moisturise. In the evening my bath is followed by a spritz of toner and a couple of pumps of rich night cream. I’ve since added in facial sunscreen, essential for all year round, and a relaxing face mask treatment as part of my Sunday night wind down.

So what are these magic products I speak of?

Try the ABC Skincare Collection

It’s as simple as ABC

A Smoothing Cleanser 120ml

B Vitamin Toner 120ml

C Skin Feast 50ml

It’s mid price range but if you work out how much money you’ve saved on takeaway coffees and sandwiches in lockdown, you can more than afford it.

The ABC set for £56 includes a face mask of your choice and a bamboo face cloth, and there’s currently free delivery to your home.

The Smoothing Cleanser comes scented with eucalyptus leaf and green tea (my favourite) or unscented for super sensitive skin. It washes away make up like a dream with the softest bamboo cloth. So pure that even if you get some in your eye, it won’t sting.

I never bothered with toning my face until I started with this set. Now I spritz Vitamin Toner morning and night. It’s made with aloe vera juice, especially refreshing during hot spells and if you’ve been in the sun. Carry it in your handbag for an instant pick-me-up.

The Skin Feast is a super nourishing cream concentrate for morning and night. It’s packed with 20 skin loving plant, fruit and flower extract to give you a shot of antioxidants. There’s hyaluronic acid to boost your collagen as well as joyous ingredients like jojoba and rosehip oil, jasmine, cedar wood and neroli. I’ve no idea where you find kakadu plum extract but apparently it’s the most vitamin C rich fruit on the planet and it sure smells good.

How about just a toe in the water?

2 things here

First. There’s a handy customised skincare selection routine for you to try which will help you decide which products will best suit your skin type.

Second. If you’re interested but don’t want to part with £56, you could start with the Skincare Discovery Kit at £28. You get a 50ml Smoothing Cleanser with bamboo cloth, a 30ml Vitamin Toner and a 20ml Skin Feast. It comes in a travel friendly cotton pouch with a 5ml Rainforest Dew Serum to try.

You’ll notice the difference

My skin is cleaner, clearer, fresher and brighter. Not only that but fine lines are less noticeable which is an excellent outcome.

  • I love the simplicity of these products, and the goodness inside the bottle.
  • Everything Tropic produces is vegan, cruelty free and chemical free.
  • The packaging is 100% recyclable. Even the ink used for their labels is vegan and biodegradable.

Truth is, I know I’ve saved money in the long-term. I’m no longer in Boots buying a basket full of new products that may or may not suit my skin. I’m just buying 3 simple products every 3 months and loving it.

Where can I buy Tropic skincare products?

I know. I know. Now that you’re convinced to have a go with the ABC Skincare, you’ll need to know where to find it. Well, not on the shelves of Boots, or Superdrug or anywhere else on your High Street. And I’ll admit that at first this was a barrier for me. I thought it would be a faff having to order it, pay online and wait for it to be delivered. But then I realised that about 80% of what I buy is online and I hardly ever visit Boots.

The great news is you can now buy Tropic Skincare products right here through my webpage. Free delivery right to your door.

I’ll be regularly reviewing Tropic products, so keep watching and you might see more goodies that you’d like to try.

That’s all for now
